Well, I've never been a sewer.
I'm learning.
You might still say I'm not a sewer at the end of all this.
But I tried! :)
Here was my inspiration for this particular pillow:
But mine turned out slightly different.
Remember my post about my 5$ Canvas Art?
That fabulous place mat I found and used?
I used it here as well.
I grabbed a bit of burlap and place the placemat over it.
I used Valspar Espresso and sprayed carefully over the placemat.
The 'step 2' picture shows the burlap after I sprayed and then lifted the placemat off.
I loved the design.
Watcha think?
I'm in love.
It looks so much richer in person, believe me.
I think it's funky and fun.
So this one pillow gave it to a couple others:
one inspired by:
That one turned out like this---
My crazy camera hates taking indoor pictures and it was raining outside so sorry about the crazy glares.
But I love this fabric. It was kind of a pain to sew but it got done... I followed the tutorial just on a larger scale to cover a pillow I had.
The button is my favorite part- I added a piece of ruffle ribbon for the loop and it turned out soo cute.
The white one is my very first pillow I ever attempted.
I used my mom's sewing machine and we had a big fight over these pillows.
We don't get along. :)
But my cute little new purple sewing machine loves me (it sewed through that burlap like a pro)
So there ya have it.
My little pile of pillows.
Ooh I might just go curl up on them with a good book and listen to the rain.
Sound good?
**I'm so excited that my burlap pillow made it to the top ten picks on the CSI Project...
