The 'Nook" Grand Reveal!

I FINALLY get to show you my favorite little place in the house.

(yup, it's pretty much already my favorite!)

It all finally came together and I can't wait for you to see everything.

If you've missed anything so far here are the posts so far:

But now we can get to my favorite part:
The big reveal!

Are you ready?

Here's a little peek...

And...... the final, fabulous reveal...

Watcha think?
They look pretty good together, huh?

And a few little accessories never hurt anyone.
The white lamp was a cast-off from my mom and a new shade from Target made it perfect for the nook.
And of course, you have to have books in the reading spot.

I threw my 'be calm' pillow on the chair but soon it'll have it's own.
I posted about redoing that blue tray a while ago and it's looks right at home holding some of my favorite classics.

Remember my scrap wood H and lovely blue frame?
That wall looks so much better without that huge tv fighting the frame for attention :)

Here's a bigger glimpse of the room...

I have plans to share more about my coffee table soon.

I know I might have a big faux pas on not decluttering my bookshelves.
But, well, I don't know that I care.

Me and hubby LOVE to read and I love our books :)
Call me werid, but they're comforting and lovely.

There's just something about a great book...
so I really don't mind if my shelves are overflowing with them :)

Wanna peek at what's actually on the shelves?
Tons of classics... the more worn the better...

And stacks of Ted Dekker books.
Love.Him.Tons.
Oh, and Frank Peretti too.

Some more of our random books... and sweet baby pictures of the hubs and me.

There's tons more too... Francine Rivers, Emily Dickison, Orson Scott Card, JRR Tolkien...
and boxes of books in the garage.
Hubby has a Nook now...and this space is my non-electronic version :)

One last look...
and if you want to see what the space looked like before, check the picture out on the part 1 post.

It's come a long way.
And I lurvve it.
Especially since it cost less than fifty bucks for everything.

What do you think?
Are they a good match?
And most importantly, do YOU have a 'nook' area?
Tell me, tell me!

  1. Fabulous! Looks like such a cozy nook. Well done.
I have about 600 books (same shelves as you actually and some of the same books. Dekker ROCKS!) Sometimes I just sit and stare at mine because I think they are so comforting and lovely too. So I dont think you are weird at all.

  7. I'm with you on the bookshelf, it is a bookshelf for a reason but I have read that if you put them in order by the main color of the spine then it makes for a more organized looking shelf. You might try that if it bothers you!
PS did you feel the earthquake we had last night? I felt it hear in Northeast AR, wasn't sure if you guys in Central AR felt it or not.

  8. Adorable!! You have just the right amount of teal?? that it looks "charming" and not overwhelming. I'd love to read in that spot, get a cozy blanket and snuggle in that chair..of course after the kids have gone to bed when it's quiet ha ha..
