Linen Striped Wreath: Candycane style!

Are any of you feeling the whole 'only two weeks left of Christmas' yet?

I've got nearly all my shopping done but it still seems like there's tons to do!!

We had a great weekend enjoying our church's annual Christmas performance and spending time together.
Me and my mom got the chance to tour the Holiday Home Tour which was amazing!!!
We got to see some beautifully decorated houses and met with an amazing Designer :)

Now back to real life...considering I still have three finals and graduation to go this week!

Yay for graduation.
Boo on finals.

But enough of that icky stuff.
let's move to prettier things.

Like this way gorgeous wreath I put together a couple weeks ago.
I love it so much that I may have to find a way to incorporate it into more than just Christmas decor.

Don't you think it turned out gorgeous?

I'm so in love with the texture of this wreath!
And you'll never guess what the wreath form is.

Unless you're on Pinterest...and then you might :)

Supplies:
*Pool Noodle for Wreath form!
*Linen and fabric scraps
*Pins
*Scissors
(Hot glue if you run out of pins like I did!)

First things first,
I took a pool noodle, cut it down to size with a serrated knife and then held it together with duct tape.
You can kind of squeeze it to shape it into a nice little circle.

It made the perfect size and width for a fun wreath!

Take your fabrics (I used linen and then an old red pillowcase for mine)
Cut tons and tons and tons of squares.
And then cut some more.

This part is a little tedious (Although it's SO better than cutting circles)
But just throw on a fun Christmas show and you'll have it done in no time.

The rest is simple.
I just folded the little squares a bit, stuck a pin in them and arranged them on the wreath.

I liked the candy-cane pattern so I went with that :)
But it'd be pretty with the red and white all mixed up too.

I LOVE the texture that the fabric squares give.

My poor little camera hates the lighting in my house so it did it's best to capture the prettiness :)
I hung it between my subway art signs.

I made the awesome burlap garland above it- and I'll be doing a tutorial on that soon :)

Don't you just love the vintage feel of linen?
It's one of my favorite things to keep in my stash.

Super romantic and beauitifully festive :)
I think that's the magic of red and white together.

What do you think?

I'm sure you need yet another wreath tutorial, huh?
But I'm kind of in love with them so I just had to add it to your ever-growing lists :)

Happy Monday, y'all!!

  7. You are a genius to think of using a pool noodle! I was very surprised at how expensive wreath forms were at the craft store. And pool noodles can be found at the dollar store sometimes! I really like the candy cane look you got with your wreath. :-)
