Pink Craft Hutch Makeover

So once upon a time there was this...pretty average looking china hutch.
It was bought several years ago with the greatest of intentions to transform it into something amazing.
Full of sass and character.

And then it sat.
It collected dust in a garage for a while until the family moved and finally had the perfect place for it.
Actually, the room was practically made for it.
It had finally found the perfect home.
But it was still pretty average.

It needed to be put to work immediately.
It held all the things.
All the odds and ends, unfinished craft projects, supplies, pretty little things that would probably, most likely, at some point be used for something wonderful.

And so it held all the things.
Averagely.

Until one day, years after it had been discovered and promised to be turned into something beautiful... it happened.

The paint came out... the doors were taken off... and it's happily ever after began...

Ok, so I could barely keep a straight face while writing that... but it just kinda happened.
So there's that.

Fall Mantle 2018

Long time coming but I thought I should at least share a bit of fall before Thanksgiving comes and goes!

I put up fall decor early so I could enjoy it longer and I'm so glad I did.
Here's a peek at our mantle fall decor this year...

I left it light, airy and neutral this year with lots of vintage/antique touches. I loved the contrast between the flat focal point of the banner in the middle and then layering out the sides.

"The Greatest Show" Circus 4th Birthday Party

I feel like that title is pretty darn wordy.

But the truth is, it's a pretty over the top theme for a 4 year old party I feel like!!!
When I asked Girlie what kind of party she wanted this year, I wasn't all that surprised when she replied that she wanted a circus party because we are a little, tiny, somewhat crazy- fan girl obsessed over here about The Greatest Showman.

We have the soundtrack on repeat and my four year old knows every word.
Her "favorite guy' is Zac Efron and she insisted that we needed peanuts.

It also still needed to be girly.
Girly circus it shall be.

So here I am to give you all the details on our super girly, glammed out circus, Greatest Show DIY party in all it's glory :)

Master Bedroom Reveal

Let me preface this with saying that we've been living in this house going on three years now.

While we have done MOST of what I want to do in the master, there are still some tweaks I'd love to do going forward so it's still a work in progress :)
As are most rooms in my house at most times- lol.

But I figured if I didn't show you now, I might never show you.
And it's come a LONG way from the beginning so it's still quite the transformation.

I figured I'd share the whole transformation today and then break off some of the smaller projects to share over the next week or so in small tutorials.

Let's just dive right into it.

Let's start with the horrific picture of the before- haha!

This is pretty soon after moving in, trying to figure out arrangements, unpack and figure out what to change/order.

I knew my color palette going into it :
Light grey, light aquas, whites and weathered woods.

The master in our new house was gigantic compared to our last house- which meant that we really needed quite a few more pieces in order to make the room feel homey.

I really wanted a vanity/make up area in one corner and then a reading nook/sitting area by the window.

We finally put most of the finishing touches into the room this past spring and I finished painting the last piece for the room this summer. It's been a long time to get in order but I really had specific pieces/looks in mind and we saved for them :)

We can chat more about each individual project as I share the reveal!!!

Here's what it looks like now!!!

Roadside Play Kitchen Makeover

Oh dear friends, you really are ever so patient with me!!!!

I won't pretend that life isn't getting the best of me lately, because it definitely is.
But there are so many things to share with you!!!

Let's talk about roadside finds because it's been a minute since I last shared an awesome furniture redo with you guys!!

Look at what I scooped up a couple months ago when a friend texted me that she had seen this little guy sitting curbside:
(and, yes, we all NEED friends like this in our lives!)

It was nasty (I mean....SO nasty), a bit water damaged and obviously missing doors or...something... on the front.

Simply Sweet Valentines Mantle

Let's talk Valentine mantles, shall we?

As soon as Christmas came down, I was craving something light & pretty so we settled with an early onset of Valentine love around here :)

I think it's pretty for winter too though! Every now and then, you just need a dash of pink.

I stuck with lots of whites & neutral wood tones wish splashes of pinks throughout.

You can find the simple how-to on this heart nail art here

That pretty little weathered, chippy candle holder was a flea market find and is seriously one of my favorite touches in most of my set-ups.

This fun piece is a shiplap inspired backdrop that I like to use to change out different wreaths & hanging decor. I made it at Christmas, intending to gift it as a sign and it just so happened to be the perfect size for a wreath I needed to hang and it's just stayed :)

I added the floral hoop I made for Little Miss' Belle party this past summer.
I promise those pictures/posts will be coming soon.

The pretty little weathered shelf was a Micheals find.
The painted teacup is another piece from our Belle party- I redid some thrifted teacups to match our theme. More coming on those soon too :)

These cute little marquee letters were Michaels clearance finds- under $4 for both! Score! That pretty metallic candle was a Target score.

The glittery books? Another DIY from our Belle party. It was amazing, guys. Be ready.

I kept my tried and true "Crazy Love" sign that I made last year because it makes my heart happy. And the floral bouquet is a floral pick from Micheals that I wrapped in sheet music for a pretty touch.

The pretty garland is from EmptyNestHomeGoods and she is amazing with party decor!!

There's our simple little Valentine set-up and I'm sure it'll be staying around longer than Vday so I'll be sure to let you know when it changes to full on Spring around here!

Hope you guys are having a lovely week, see you soon!

A Week of Valentine Printables: Day 2 {Bracelet Valentine Printables}

I have the most AWESOME surprise for you guys today!!

Usually I leave my favorite until the end of the week but there's a special reason as to why I'm pushing it to today!!

One of my favorite Valentine traditions to do with the kids each year is to come up with unique & fun valentines.
We did Harry Potter last year.
And these cute Pokemon ones another year.

BUT believe it or not, I have yet to have had a chance to do some super fun girly ones!!
Little miss is finally at that age where she is super excited about giving out cards to her friends and these have got to be the most perfect, girly Valentines ever!!

It makes me even more excited that it incorporates one of my most favorite handmade shops ever, Brooklyn Rose Beads!!!

Check these cuties out...

They are the cutest things ever!!!

Snag yourself a couple of the gorgeous bracelets in her shop and get ready to have the cutest Valentines around!!

Here's the quick rundown on how to make them:

Supplies:
Printable Cards (see below for the download link)
Cardstock for printing
Bracelets (I highly suggest Brooklyn Rose Beads for these!)
Washi tape
Scissors or cutter

First, print off your cards.
My suggestion is to download and then go to your print options.
I printed these as 3x5s and make sure to unclick the box 'fit picture to frame' so it won't distort the image.
Make sure to select the number of images you want printed- mine printed 4 to a page.
Cardstock is HIGHLY recommended for this. You need the weight for a pretty print-out and for supporting the bracelets. Grab some at Walmart :)

After your cards are printed, cut them out carefully with your cutter.

Lastly (the fun part!) tear off small pieces of washi tape and secure your bracelets to each card right in the middle. Two should do it just fine.

Suggestions for making it boy-friendly would be to grab some candy bracelets instead of the accessory kind!

You'll have the hottest Valentines around!!
Not to mention be the Superstar mom in your own house :)

There are three different designs, mix & match as desired!!

Click below to download your free print:

I so hope you enjoy these!!
Be sure to swing back around tomorrow for another fun Valentine freebie!!

A Week of Valentine Printables: Day 1

You guys....

my FAVORITE week of the year!!!

I know, I know, I've kept super quiet about it because I really didn't decide to do it until, well, last night. Cue the craziness.

But I couldn't let it slip by, it's become the best tradition ever :)

So here it is...

So every day this week I'll be sharing a new FREE printable!!!

Printables are so easy and fun to use, they can be used as decor, backdrops, flatlay fillers, valentines, anything you can think of!!

Here's what's up for today...

some pretend play fun!!

These are fun & super simple to use, perfect for pretend play or for photo props- we did both :)

We have a bakery set-up in Little Miss' room for her ice cream, donut & cake shop that these are just perfect for! We added a free Valentine's sign and a little envelope & mailbox to have some pretend play leading up to Valentines.

The XOXO banner is easily printed and strung up across the front or use it as decor in some other part of the house too. Print it bigger or smaller depending on your need.

Outfit sources:
Black & White Leotard: Cutie Q's (Code Maggie20 to save)
Tutu: Lola & Wren
Necklace: Tassel Thief Co (Code Maggie)
Bracelets Brooklyn Rose Beads
Bow: Lillybellemarket (Code Maggie15)

If you're stuck on how to use printables, here are a couple ideas I've done in the past...
-Print & frame (the most common)
- Print them smaller and stick them in a lunchbox, dash of the car, etc for a sweet note
- Print them and cut them into different shapes for cute banners- I've used them in the middle of paper banners with pattern papers around them.
-cute tags for gifts

I hope you enjoy them!! Be sure to stick around this week for other fun freebies!!!
Happy Monday!!!
